The Four Counties Classic is a free gathering for all pre-1990 classic cars.

The gatherings take place from 9am to noon on the first and third Saturdays of every month throughout the year at The Bletchingley Arms, 2 High St, Bletchingley, Surrey RH1 4PE

The next gathering is on 4th September then 18th September etc,

For those who need sustenance, The Bletchingley Arms serves breakfast between 9.30am and 10,30am.

The event is a static gathering in the midst of some wonderful driving roads though the scenic North Downs. When the weather was kind, prior to the lockdows we often had as many as 130 cars in attendance. One reason for the success of the gathering is its geographical location close to the borders between four counties. We have regular members who come from Surrey, Greater London, Kent and Sussex. There are probably more classic cars in these four counties than anywhere else in the country (and therefore the world).

The Four Counties Classic has a very active Facebook page:

WINCHESTER

FoKAB’s famous bus running day is back, on Sunday 12th September with a pop-up display of the King Alfred fleet on Saturday 11th which will feature two unique events.

Before the customary and no doubt very welcome opportunity to see, hear and ride on the famous King Alfred buses on 12th September as part of Winchester Heritage Open Days, on Saturday 11th September two extra special events will be happening.

First, there will be four 1960s front-engined, front entrance, flat floor, lowheight 30 foot long double-deckers on display alongside each other at Winchester’s Cattle Market. Star of this show will be the recently restored Albion Lowlander from the South Notts fleet, and alongside will be an Aldershot & District Dennis Loline III, a Hants & Dorset Bristol FLF and a former King Alfred AEC Renown, presented in its later Hants & Dorset National Bus poppy red livery. Each bus will give a demonstration ride and they will stand side by side, to allow people to make up their minds which one they like best. ‘We think this is the first occasion when these four types have been together on display like this!’ said FoKAB’s chairman, James Freeman.

Second, the other special attraction couldn’t be more different, being the first appearance in living memory – and probably much longer – of a little bus that was converted for service between Owslebury and Winchester a hundred years ago and used by a Mr Dovey. Although FoKAB’s own 1931 Dennis is celebrating 90 years of existence this year, this Model T Ford originating from before the First World War is now a centenarian having been converted in 1921 to a useful little bus like many others of its type. It is being kindly brought to Winchester for the day by its owner Graham Thorn.

FoKAB’s display of rare local and historic buses and coaches will be at the Cattle Market car park in Worthy Lane, Winchester between 12:00 and 17:00 on Saturday 11th and will consist of at least a dozen vehicles, ranging from 1931 to 1970. Free vintage bus journeys will operate half-hourly between Winchester Broadway and the Cattle Market. To mark the centenary of bus

Winchcombe and Cheltenham Cleeve Vale Rotary Clubs invite classic car owners to an event to be held on the weekend of 18th and 19th September 2021 CLASSICS AT PRESCOTT' OPEN HILL CLIMB EVENT. The event is open to all vehicles over 25 years old but exceptions may be made at the discretion of the organisers for particularly interesting younger vehicles.

Sunday 19th will be devoted to display and driving the famous hill, with passengers if you wish, in marshalled but un-timed runs. Un-timed runs eliminate the need for crash helmets and the full gamut of safety equipment etc. However vehicles must be road legal i.e. taxed and insured. A Paddock entry donation of £60 per vehicle covers 2 runs up the hill, all passengers and a souvenir programme. Entries will be limited to 200 cars. Any additional runs available will be offered to paddock entrants, for further donations.

As before, we will also be having a static display in designated areas for classic, vintage and special vehicles. We feel this significantly enhances the presentation of the superb range of vehicles expected. A Static entry donation of £15 per car, covers all passengers and a free programme. Block bookings by Clubs will be particularly welcome and we will endeavour to park such groups together.

On Saturday 18th we are offering a tour of the Cotswolds. The route will start near Prescott and take in approximately 80 miles of the counties finest scenery. It will visit a suitable venue along the route to take in some refreshment and meet your fellow tourers. An entry donation of £20 covers the tour and a souvenir tour brochure

Spectators are always very welcome!!!
